1.Return to zero (return to the origin of the machine tool)
Before tool setting, be sure to return to zero (return to the machine tool's origin) to clear the coordinate data of the last operation. Note: X, Y and Z axes need to return to zero.
2.The forward rotation of the spindle
In "MDI" mode, enter the instruction code to make the spindle rotate forward, and maintain a medium rotation speed. Then change to "hand wheel" mode, and operate the machine tool by changing the adjustment rate.
3.X direction knife setting
Use the tool to lightly touch the right side of the workpiece to clear the relative coordinates of the machine tool; lift the tool in the Z direction, then move the tool to the left of the workpiece, and move the tool and the workpiece along Z to the same height as before. Touch it gently, lift the tool, write down the X value of the relative coordinate of the machine tool, move the tool to half the relative coordinate X, write down the X value of the absolute coordinate of the machine tool, and press (INPUT) to enter the coordinate system. (Fanuc system can input “X0.” And press “Measure”).
4.Y direction knife
Use the tool to gently touch the front of the workpiece to clear the relative coordinates of the machine tool; lift the tool in the Z direction, then move the tool to the back of the workpiece, and move the tool and the workpiece along Z down to the same height. Touch it lightly, lift the tool, note the Y value of the machine's relative coordinate, move the tool to half of the relative coordinate Y, write down the Y value of the machine's absolute coordinate, and press (INPUT) to enter the coordinate system. (Fanuc system can input “Y0.” And press “Measure”).
5.Z direction tool setting
Move the tool to the surface where the Z-direction zero point is to be moved. Slowly move the tool until it comes into light contact with the upper surface of the workpiece. Write down the Z-direction value in the coordinate system of the machine tool at this time and press (INPUT). This can be done in the coordinate system (Fanuc system can enter "Z0." And press "Measure").
Stop the spindle first, and move the spindle to a proper position, call the processing program, and prepare for formal processing.
